Plasma in the sun

May 29, 2005 4:48PM PDT

Hi,
Im wondering if anyone knows of a plasma screen that can be used like a computer monitor and kept in a sunny environment?
I totally computer illiterate and would love some help.
Thanks in advance.

There are a few.

But the ones I found are military use displays and start in the 5 figure range. For consumers, we'll have to be under the umbrella or, in the shade.

I don't think there's anything out there to work in such an extreme. What alot of users do is place a shield over(edge) of display to cast a shadow/block to view. Of course still ordinate away from direct sunlight. I'm sure some displays are better than others, but direct sunlight I'm sure you adjust to the max. to get best results and that alone will shorten the life-span of such an used display(keep that in mind). Plasma displays themselves tend to have a shorter life-span to boot vs. std. LCD display. I wish, I could give a more complete answer to your quest.
