Plans to allow multiple thread posts per page?

Sep 13, 2006 10:47AM PDT

Hi all, I know that you must have discussed this already (possibly many times) but do you intend to make an option to view all the posts in a thread on one page, instead of having to click to a new page for each post?

Also, is there a way to change one's username? As you can see, this one's pretty lame. I was in a rush.

The ability to view multiple posts at once instead of loading them individually has been one of the most requested features for some time and is coming to a monitor near you. In the next forum upgrade, currently planned for next month, there will be three layouts to choose from:

1.) Tree view: What we have now.
2.) Flat view: All posts will be displayed linearly.
3.) Thread view: A combination of the previous two, all posts will be displayed but replies will be indented, making sub-discussions possible like they are now.

In regards to changing your username, you must e-mail Lee Koo, our forum administrators, and ask him to do it for you. (Such a feature could be easily abused if anyone could change their own username.) His public e-mail address is messageboards(at]cnet[dot)com.

Hope this helps,
John

That was a very succinct and helpful response. I eagerly await the upgrade.

Now if only I could think of a new username.....
