Question

place icon in the dock

I have read several how to's about placing an icon for google and for gmail in the dock or tool bar on my macbook pro laptop. I have google in safari but, I would like to just click on the icon in the dock.
First I do not have google in Finder like everyone tells me. (that I can find anyway)
Second I'm not the greatest computer wizard, so you must explain what I need to do.
Thank You I hope someone can help me. water steps

It's means you can't do it in one step.
