Frankly if a set does this it's best to pack and return rather than call it in and spend a lot of time on it. You might want the new 4K sets as those push the boundary up a notch and can go past this issue where the image processing is trying to fill in the details.
Be sure you are not watching SD CONTENT when you see this. SD content can be ratty and the digitizing effects shall show.

I noticed that in dark areas of pictures, if i get close, i notice a lot of pixels "dancing" around in colors of red and blue and sometimes green. it looks very "noisy" up close. sitting back on the couch, i still notice it. it does not occur in other solid color areas, just dark/black areas.
just curious if this is the behavior on everyone's panel, or whether it's some issue on my end (such as poor component cables or something). occurs both with dvd and cable. both connect to my receiver (xr55) via component, and then the receiver sends 1 component to the tv.
