Pixel Shift option not available on Samsung PN50A450

Mar 22, 2009 11:28PM PDT

I am really enjoying my 50-inch plasma, but have been noticing some burn-in from some of the stationary logos on news type programs. I would like to activate the pixel shift option, but it is greyed out (i.e. not available for me to choose). Are there specific settings which are prerequisites for the ability to use the pixel shift option? For the record, my primary input is hi-def on HDMI 3. Thanks for any ideas.

skottieg,

You might try either getting the television out of "Just Scan" mode, or try changing your settings to 16:9 or Widescreen, and then try the pixel shift again.

Keep me posted.

When does Pixel Shift function?

I was able to change to 16:9 and adjust Pixel Shift options. Does that mean it does not function in "Just Scan" mode? If so, it's not an issue for me, but am curious.

skottieg,

It will not function in Just Scan mode. If you want to know a detailed explanation, I could probably investigate a little. But it has to do with processing, as the Pixel Shift moves the screen a couple of pixels every couple of minutes, and Just Scan is designed to simply show the incoming signal as is.
