you catch them though? I saw a film (don't ask me which one) where they dropped a sort of mini depth-charge into the water and all the fish arrived at the top.

On the one hand, if we did that in The Thames, it would help us to know just how many we had, OTOH, it might not go down too well with the salmon fishermen further inland from the mouth of The Thames, and on the third hand, do you reckon we can get our knives and forks ready?

OK, the news item said that this piranha was already swimming in that great pool in the sky, but you never know do you?

Not beyond the realms of possibility ...

According to the article, the piranha arrived by seagull-carrier and was therefore probably "not too healthy" by the time it arrived.

Nevertheless, it is a freshwater fish, and The Thames is freshwater not too far inland, so the only thing against it is tropical temperatures. Of course, with the current total mish-mash of world temperature ...

There are beaches at the mouth-end of The Thames, where people (for their own reasons - like for bets as to who can brave the freezing temperatures in the middle of winter) dip their toes in the water. Maybe best to wear flippers in future...

PS Where are you?

River Wonders - Piranhas - Live Piranhas, and other Rare Fish Ship to your door, wholesale prices.

They would be found in rivers here once in a while because people would get tired of them and dump them.

(NT) Have same dumping suspected in NC of one only finds in ponds or lakes in past.
