Question

Pioneer vsx 1122 k as preamp?

by hallvard40 / November 9, 2014 8:51 AM PST

Can I use my vsx 1122k as a preamp using my zone 2 out? Or is that just for stereo mode. I wanted a dedicated amp for my fronts and use current receiver to power rears . I just like all the features and wanted to save some money and not have to buy a preamp.

current system:
Pioneer VSX 1122K
Fronts Polk TSX 330
Center Klipsch R25
Rears Polk TSX 110
Sub Klipsch 450

Im thinking about an Emotiva 3 channel amp to power my fronts. I know they have preamps for it just trying to save a few dollars because I like all the features my receiver has just think my fronts seem underpowered. It was a suggestion on their website but I think my zone 2 out is just stereo.

Why would only the front being under power...or are you saying the whole system is under power? I don't think even a "preamp" is going to solved the problem either. I just wouldn't do what you are thinking of doing.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
