Most of the time when trying to eject a disc, the rom won't open for disc removel. I have to restart the PC in order to get it to open. It just started happening. I am running XP Pro. I am not very technical.

if the system is "finishing up" with the drive. Have you waited? Restarting verifies this, as a restart forces XP to finish. Give it a little longer. Wait a good minute just for grins. Let us know what happens.
I tried waiting a minute or longer and sometimes it still doesn't open. Could it be I need to update my drivers?
