Pioneer 6070 vs Samsung 58A650

by maball / December 28, 2008 10:38 PM PST

I am trying to decide between the 60 inch pioneer 6070 plasma and the 58 inch samsung 58A650 plasma. The price for the pioneer is $2100 and the samsung is $3000. The pioneer is brand new but I think the model has been out for a couple of years. The samsung is a current model and is 1080p vs the pioneer which is 720p.
Any advise would help.
Thanks, Mike

My two cents

I would take the Pioneer hands down. Unless your going to sit close to the set and use Blue-Ray, the 720 will be fine.

Pioneer 6070 vs Pioneer 6020

My two cents,
Thank you for the helpful reply. I will be using a Blue-Ray along with a complete surround sound system. The distance from the panel will be 10-12 feet. I am also looking at the new pioneer 6020 with the new Kuro panel and is 1080P. This would set me back another $1800. Knowing more of the facts, would I be better off spending the extra bucks for the newer model?.
Thanks,
Mike
