Question

Pinning Edge to Taskbar

Aug 8, 2016 2:22AM PDT

I do have Microsoft Edge's icon on my Desktop.

I am puzzled that I am not able to drag and pin it to my task bar (the way I have readily pinned from my Desktop Firefox, Chrome, and even Microsoft's IE).

I see all icons has both pin to start or pin to taskbar. So give Bob__B suggestion a try.

Answer
I couldn't either

I tried and couldn't drag and pin Edge.
I had to open Edge than when the icon appeared on the taskbar I could right click on it and choose to pin it.
64 bit Win 10
I also have Classic Shell if that would make a difference.

My great puzzle remains!

I much appreciate the responses by all --Bob Profitt, Bob_B, Oldartq, and Itsdigger.

My great puzzle remains regarding my inability to pin Edge to my taskbar.

Before posting my original query, I had tried right clicking on the Edge icon on my Desktop. There was no "pin to taskbar" facility in the menu! Further, after the Edge icon had appeared on my task bar after opening Edge from its icon on my Desktop, the only available option after right clicking on it was to "close the window"; there was no "pin to taskbar" facility!

Magic!
Aug 8, 2016 10:02PM PDT

A few minutes ago, the Edge icon had "magically" appeared and stayed for maybe three minutes on my task bar. And then it disappeared!

As I had written earlier, I have never been able to find for Edge the "pin to task bar" command anywhere; so I have to attribute the phenomenon of, both, appearance of the Edge icon on my task bar for about three minutes a short time ago and its subsequent disappearance to pure "magic." So, yes, Virginia, there is a thing called "pure magic" at least so far as Microsoft's Edge is concerned!
