That's one of the reason why I don't use a PCI capture card. Too many chance of haveing conflict problem.
OS WinXP Pro Dell PC - Dimension 4400
Pinnacle AV\DV card - Studio 9.0 software
When I installed the AV\DV card and Studio software while it seemed to work OK and as excepted, my modem began to fail i.e. it would dial out and complete the initial connection however, that where the communication stopped. Therefore, I could not get to any websites.
Removing the card, deleting it from the system hardware file, and uninstalling the software did not correct the problem.
Using the restore point prior to installation of the card and software allowed the modem to fully function. I moved the modem to a different PCI slot. It worked then installed the AV\DV card and software. Again the modem faultered.
Repeated the reversal process and the modem worked. Reinstalled the AV/DV in a different slot and the modem faultered.
The system showed both as working and different IRQ's assiged to each. I think the AV/DV may have been sharing IRQ with the PC sound card.
I've removed the AV\DV card and software and restored back to pre-installation and the modem is functioning fine.
Any ideas of what may be causing this problem and/or recommendations for resolving it would be appreciated. Pinnacle Tech support was baffled and was unable to help.
