Ping spikes on wireless possibly not on wired. new router

by taaf1992 / July 4, 2016 4:50 PM PDT

Hello, so for 2 months now i have had ping spikes, i usually have between 60-65 ms when i play games, but it will suddenly spike up to 150-200 ms for a second or two. This may happend every 5-20 minutes, it varies all the time

Ive tried connecting with cable for like 15 minutes and i havent had any lag spikes then, but having the cable connected to my laptopt everytime i want to game isnt that fun.
I have also reset my laptopt to fabric settings-
So i bought a new router thinking the issue had to be there, but the exact same issue is still there.

I've tried doing ping tests with other laptopts and they have the same problem, although not as large ping spikes as me.

I tried changing the wireless channel in my router settings, ive tried using the 5ghz network, there has been no change. I've tried reseting the modem aswell.

My new router is an asus RT-AC68U
And my pc is a laptopt, asus k501L its about 8 months old

Thanks for any response

That's easy to explain. WiFi is open to interference and wired is not. This is why your avid gamers stay wired.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
