Research the SEEK TIME on CD/DVD drives and compare to...

Compare that to your normal hard disk. The added time is quite normal.

I meant when I put a cd with pictures into the cd/dvd drive the pictures take a while to load. This has nothing to do with booting the computer.Sorry I wasn't clear

You were plenty clear, and Bob wasn't talking about booting from a CD.

Put very simply, CDs and DVDs are VERY slow in comparison to a hard drive. The delay you complain of is quite normal, and it's a function of the CD/DVD-ROM hardware limitations. The only workaround is to copy the files to the hard drive.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
