General discussion

pictures of same size

Oct 1, 2005 11:42PM PDT

I have received a number of pictures that I want to convert to the same size 56x60.Eventhough I do Rt-click resize pictures/advanced/custom it gives me the custom picture(s) of different sizes 41x60 , 52x60 or the like. How could I make all the pictures of the size 56x60 please? Please guide?

It does at the cost of quality!

(NT) (NT) Odd. At that pixel count, what quality is left?

I am comparing mine and that site's images. The images of the site are at least better to look at. It may be because of the better original image as compared to the original of mine.

I am making a web site that has about 550 residential flats and I have to give smallest thumbnails of the owners of the flats--- a sort of Who Is Who in the residential area with information on contact number email, education, present job etc.

Kindly visit <http://www.standardchartered.com/in/> and upon going for Login now under (on-line services) we have the page that contains the photograph of 'Deepa' ---- I think it is not as bad at that pixel size. If we go inside the site there are many similar size photographs of different people.

There are far too many methods or effects you can use when resizing images. Please explore this area carefully.

As to your example, it doesn't show such a thumbnail.

Thanks for your valuable guidance however it needs proper study by me. I shall do it later please.

In the mean while I find for batch conversion the simpliest free program PictureGirdle ----just it needs group draging on to the button. It is here <http://www.scrammit.com/software.htm>
Thanks once again for the guidance.

Drag multiple images and drop them all at once.

Yes, IrfanView can do exactly that

It is an easy Batch conversion for IrfanView to make 55x60 pixel images of any and all grouped images. I just tried it. Just select:
File>Batch Conversion
Browse to your images to resize, and select as many as you want.
Work as: Batch conversion
[check] Use advanced options
On the Advanced options set the RESIZE to resize to 55x60 pixels.

Have the conversions placed in the folder of your choosing.

It works fast and fine. Sure you are going to loose some detail, but what would you expect from an image of just 55x60?

Irfanview /FastStone viewer batch conversion has many steps to get the end result. For batch conversion I use the simpliest free program PictureGirdle----just draging on to the button <http://www.scrammit.com/software.htm>
Thanks anyway for the information.
