Question

Pictures from SD card don't stay edited.

May 31, 2016 7:29PM PDT

I've just upgraded to Win 10 from 7 on my Toshiba Satellite laptop. I do a lot of ebay, and pull pictures off of SD card to put into auctions. Sometimes a pic needs to be rotated, easy to do with the former photo viewer (I don't save these pics). NOW... anything I edit/rotate will show changed on the card memory, but if I pull from the card later when working on the auction, it seems to pull from the default image and isn't the same, edited pic. I checked the Windows 10 tips, and is the section "How To Get Windows Photo Viewer back in Windows 10" what I need??? Why is it doing this, is it saving my edited picture somewhere that I really don't care or know about??? Thanks.

After edit are you saving to a different place?

That is the most likely explanation.

I'm not saving it anywhere (at least to my knowledge). Prior (with 7), I was just working straight off the card because I don't need them permanently. I would make a change or two and they'd be saved back to the SD card until I deleted them. The change shows on the card, so if I insert the card again, WITH the changes, that should be the image I get when I use them on an ebay listing.

Fixed the "pictures editing" issue

Late response to something solved (just closing "the books" in case someone else had a similar problem). I appreciate the answers, but it turned out to simply be that I needed to go into settings and download "the app". WHICH IS EXTREMELY MADDENING in the fact that when I switched to 10, they could've left things the way they were!! With 7, I didn't have to "download an app". I was using the simple photo editing tools that came with the viewer AND LIKED, and 10 should've left that there. Instead, I had to go searching for it. Sad when you have to put something back that you didn't ask to have removed in the first place. Same with default search engine, I didn't want Bing to replace Google, I had to put that back into play as well. Sorry, rant over.
