Pictures disappeared, I didn't delete them....Please help!!

Mar 16, 2006 3:11PM PST

Hi,

I had been using a Kodak Cx7530 and a PNY 512 MB memory card. Last Saturday while on vacation I took some 80 pictures and then had to change batteries and took some other 10. That night I reviewed the pictures and was able to see the last 10 pictures I had taken on my LCD screen but the other 80 pictures had disappeared. However, once I put the memory card on my pc card reader it showed the previous 80 but not the last 10 pictures. They simply disappeared! I didn't delete any of them. I have tried PC Inspector, Zero Assumption Recovery and nothing works. That is, those programs recover old pictures that I had previously deleted but not the last 10 photos. Any ideas as to what happened to them and if there is any chance to recover those last 10 pictures? I also tried to see if a second folder had been created but nothing shows up. Those pictures are precious to me. Is my memory card corrupted? Why was I able to see the pictures on the camera's LCD screen but unable to see them later? Please help. Thanks!!!

If you can not see the 10 photos using the card reader and computer, then they are not there at all.

My guess is......those 10 photos are located on the cameras 32MB internal memory.

Take the memory card out of the camera and see if you can still see them on the LCD.

You will have to connect your camera to the computer to retrieve the photos from internal memory.
Check you user's manual, there may be a way to copy them to the PNY memory card.

........

After you have all of the photos from internal memory and external memory safely in your computer, I suggest you format the PNY memory card with the CAMERA.
