An out-of-focus photo cannot be fixed with software.
Sometimes it can be helped if it is not too bad.
Most people would try the "Unsharp Mask" filter.
You can apply it just to the toadstool if you use the selection tool (on the toadstool) before you apply the Unsharp Mask filter.
I use Adobe Photoshop Elements II and it has all of the key elements of the full size Photoshop. It sells for about $99 but you often find it on sale for less.

Hi there,
since a few weeks I have a digital camera (HPPhotosmart R707) and have been making pictures, but of course they are not perfect (yet).
I was wondering if I can solve following issue with some editing tool: I made a picture of a toadstool and used the focus incorrectly since the background is clear, but the Toadstool isn't (although it looked fine to me on the camera).
Is it possible to correct this with?
If yes, which software can I use and how do I need to edit this picture to correct this (So the Toadstool is more clearer then the background), assuming this is possible?
Thanks for any advice!
Best regards,
Ellen
