Picture recovery

Aug 9, 2005 8:45AM PDT

I have some pictures on my computer they are mostly jpg's and some bitmaps. The problem is that some cannot be read by irfanview or any other picture viewing software. I believe that the files are corrupt. Does anybody know of anyway to make these files useable again. Also there are some mpeg's that have the same problem.

Try for Mac?
Aug 9, 2005 12:07PM PDT

Bob, anything for the Mac? We get a ton of files generated from the PC sent to us for the Mac at our office. Lots are corrupt. Should I suggest to our LOCAL office IT person that he could do us a favor and download what you suggested. Our IT person is only a PC guy.
Wouldn't you think that our company had the brains to hire an IT that knew both PC and Mac? Or is that too simple!? Our OS at work is 9.0.1 My Mac at home is 10.
The last PC IT guy suggested all the time for us to run Norton from our desktop. DURRHH!
Peter, mrmacfixit, clued me in on that some eight months ago. Doesn't work! Yet these idiots still tell us about it and to do it. I saved the post from Peter concerning Norton on the desktop. Show the IT guy the letter. The IT idiot reads it over twice, hands me back the print-out and just walks away. DURRHH Twice!

Bob, send Peter my post about the IT idiots at our company. I am sure that I could see Peter just shaking his head and saying what a shame. Still trying to cover their butts!!

Bob, can you do me a favor also? Go to a recent post I have about InDesign. I need some professional info. No one has posted for over a week. Need your insight. Our company may go that way and proceed into 2006 with Mac S10 technology and InDesign. Amazing.
Thanks Bob,
Kevin

Sorry IT staffers.

I can assure you that because of the worst IT staff ever, I began down a road to be self sufficient.

As to Macs, my crystal ball predicts I may have one in 2006 when the Intel based models ship. Macfixit has it all over me on the Mac front.
