These do degrade over the years so call in and ask about all resets as a last try. Also look for any Eco saving setting to turn off.

Hi,
I have a Samsung LCD TV model LE32B450C4W.
This morning I went to make a drink while the TV was on and when I came back into the room the picture was really dark.
I got the set in Oct 2009 and its worked fine all these years until today.
It has been running the backlight on full for the last five years, last month I turned it down to 0 to save energy, but today the picture has gone very very dark and if you turn the brightness and contrast to full you can see the picture but its still dark.
If you change the backlight settings turning it up or down nothing happens.
Can anyone suggest anything although I have a feeling its the backlight but I am not experienced in TV repair.
Many thanks.

Ok, I am stupid,
The TV was in energy saving mode, how I don not know but I turned this off and it is working fine.
Thanks for your reply Bob glad it's still working saved me £300 for a new set.
