Picture goes blank for a few seconds after volume is changed

Sep 17, 2010 2:23AM PDT

I have a Samsung LN52B750 connected to a Denon receiver. All was well for the first year. All of a sudden, when we change the volume the image disappears for a couple of seconds. They are connected via HDMI and I have tried using a different cable.

hlrom,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue.

Are you adjusting the volume on the TV? Or the receiver when this happens? Also, is the picture going through the receiver, or is the TV's output for audio connected only?

Some receivers do have firmware updates also - it may be worth checking into.

Everything goes through the receiver and adjusting volume through the receiver. No firmware upgrades for this unit (2309CI). Also, before sound issues started, when I called up menu for receiver it would appear on tv screen but now that is just blank. Likewise with XM or other audio inputs (ipod, etc). I get sound but screen is just blank without typical menu

hlrom,

What happens if you connect directly to the television? Do you have the same issue?

I ask because some receivers have firmware updates that fix issues also, and that may be something to inquire with the manufacturer of your receiver.

But let's confirm that they work if connected directly to the TV first.
