zpddan,
I'm going to have to rely on you and some of the other forum members, as I'm not even an Apple TV *novice*, but let's see if I can help a little.
One of the things that may cause the signal to get lost is the intermittent changing of resolutions. I'm not sure how Apple TV is set up, but is there a way you can set a resolution on Apple TV that will keep it outputting at a consistent resolution?
The other possible solution is to go into the menu and make sure that Anynet+ is turned off.
The last possible solution is to change the HDMI input. Try a different port.
Keep me posted!

Hello,
I use an Apple TV and HDMI connecting to brand new Samsung LA46A650 LCD tv. I tried the three different HDMI (including HDMI 2 MODE)ports on the TV and always get the same issue :
1- just after bootup, the Apple TV works fine. It works fine until I turn off the TV or CHANGE the source.
2- when I turn the TV back on, it shows me "Searching for signal". It goes back and forth from that information and eventually shows up the Apple TV display for just a second (blinking). This happens no matter I put the Apple TV to sleep or not. I need to reboot the Apple TV in order to enjoy it. I used many HDMI (1.3v)cables like SUPRA and LIBERTY cables
