Picking out right home audio system

by hjg24 / September 15, 2006 11:15 AM PDT

Hello everyone,
I was first set on buying some HTIB. After researching and getting answers on the forum, I have come to the conclusion that it is probally better to just set up my own system. I went to Best Buy tonight and the guy there was very helpful. He told me what I really need is a receiver, a set of speakers, and some monster cable wire for the speakers and some additional wire for the sub. I have exactly $900 dollars to spend. I would really appreciate it if someone can tell me about a good reciever and speaker system for my price range. I just bought the new 50 inch panasonic, which has 2 hdmi inputs. As for the speaker, I am looking for something with 6.1 surround sound.
