Picking a laptop

by Chiketta19 / November 1, 2005 2:04 AM PST

I am trying to buy a new laptop in the next two weeks and know NOTHING about computer. I was all set to get a Sony, but after visiting Best Buy, the guy convinced me that for $600 less, I can get a better computer, the Compaq v2424nr. He said that it had a "better" processor. I am not going to be doing any hardcore gaming or anything, and want something smaller in weight. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

If I was in the market, I'd get that one.

get the dell inspiron 6000 at the HOME SITE! And after go to the enhanced configuration: if you want a laptop 1000 or less then upgrade these: graphics card to x300 64 meg hypermemory(even though you are not a gamer), 60 gig hard drive, 740 processor, and 9 cell battery, all for 997. And if you want lets say 1200 or lower laptop then still go with the inspiron 6000, upgrade also to 740, 80 gig of ram, 128 meg x300, wsxga screen, it might seem a little over now, but after you go to the add to cart, grab a fresh coupon code from and get 250 dollars more off! So get the 500 dollar off one, copy and paste it to the area where it says coupon code and then congradulations, you just got a medium-high end laptop, oh! who cares, i will just tell you the code now:DH9NR1LG506BVB. Hope this helps and after all the tax and shipping it will still be 1198 dollars even if you are in California! Hope this helps. Oh and did i mention that there is no interest until 2007 using DPA?
