PHP--How Do I Use It????

Feb 12, 2007 9:29AM PST

I have never used PHP, and the Web Site Design Course that I took didn't even cover it. It also barely covered Java. It did NOT cover asp, java (with the exception of one chapter), php, etc.

Now, my host site has me on a PHP powered site.

http://squeakeycat.com is the link to the main page. When I go to the control panel, site tab, web pages link, to make pages...I get lost at that point, and i can't seem to reach the person that I got the site from. He got me the domain name (to which i paid him back for with money order so i have receipt), he was also paid for 1 yr of hosting (also with money order so i have receipt).

He said this would include any help that I needed, yet have not gotten any help and sometimes, when I go to the control panel, there are only 2 tabs, instead of the normal 5 tabs.

Could someone please help me with this, as i have asked in several other forums for help in using my already made home page (index.htm)as my home page for my squeakeycat.com addy, but i can't figure out how to either upload it, copy/paste it, nothing.

I know absolutely nothing about PHP, and the host was told this b4 i even sent him the money. Now, i have a site, and no way of putting it to use, as idk how to put it to use

PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP

This is an interesting situation since I'm really not sure what you are dealing with. Do you have full server access? Do you own the rights to the domain? PHP WebSite is only one out of many "softwares" you can use to build a website, and maybe this is not the right software for you, because there are probably many other simpler ones. If you could take a screen shot of the backend and send it to me, I could try to help you more. Also, just because it is a PHP WebSite powered website, you should be able to change that and use HTML.

Let me know.

My Goofed Up PHP Site

I sent you an email, hoping that you will email me back. I left my email address with the small email i sent you through here. Please let me know when you get it, so that I can send you what I have that you can look at, as I don't know how or where to save the pictures here to post them in this post with my questions.

I've replied to your email with some suggestions. Thank you for making all those screenshots... I know this can be very time consuming.
