Photoshop Layers

Dec 17, 2004 4:11PM PST

I am a Photoshop user. Can anyone help please on the subject of layers? It's something I have never understood. If possible could someone just tell me, in a few words, how to build a layer? Thanks and a happy Christmas.

Hi,

Photoshop "Layers" are as if you worked with transparent layers of celluloid (plastic). They can be given many different opacities and other qualities.

Once you are sure of the effect you want, you merge or "flatten" the image.

I have been trying to learn photoshop also. I finally made a break through by purchasing a few books. I never felt I got a real good handle on projects until I worked through Scott Kelbys Book PHOTOSHOP CLASSIC EFFECTS 2004 (Barnes and Noble) He takes you step by step. Frustrating and to simple if you know photoshop.
