Photoshop contest!

Because you guys love making us look silly, I'm starting a Photoshop contest on the Flickr group:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/buzzoutloud/

There are already a few great examples up there, by SimonTemplar and AndyInTN. Go to town (but you know...keep it decent)

Photoshop Only?!? ;-)
Feb 14, 2006 2:55AM PST

For us opensource folk, is it OK if we use GIMPShop instead? I'm kind of alergic to paying for software when I can help it. Wink

I Love You! lol

I love it when people use free or open source software, it just makes my day!

Tried GIMP once on OS X
Feb 14, 2006 9:44AM PST

It didn't feel as quick and responsive as photoshop on the mac. Not that photoshop is quick and responsive, just that GIMP was less so.

Gotten Much Better
Feb 14, 2006 10:30AM PST

I think GIMP has gotten much better over the last couple of years. In addition there is a version called GIMPShop that has the menus and stuff reconfigured to look like Photoshop.

Oh, and the GIMP folks already have experimental builds running native on OSX for Intel. Adobe's plan will give us that with Photoshop in about 18 months. I suspect GIMPShop native on Intel will run circles around Photoshop through Rosetta.

I second that

The GIMP 2.0 is really good.

Hadn't heard about GimpSHop. I want to check that out.

Paint Shop Pro?
Feb 20, 2006 1:24AM PST

Okay, it isn't open source, but it's much less expensive than Photoshop. I've used Paint Shop Pro since version 3, and have been very pleased with all the features that they've added over the years.

I don't suppose you could help by providing us with more photos of you guys? It would help to have a few different angles of each. Happy

My Attempt
Feb 14, 2006 10:26AM PST

I made my own for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. This was because of the Rootkit you mentioned in today's podcast. I'm sorry I couldn't put Veronica in there aswell, unless i put two heads on Angelina Jolie. HMmmm, interesting idea. Here's the tiny url.

Skin tone

Looks great! Molly's skin tone could use a little changing, but I'm not a photoshopper, so I don't know how difficult that is.

skin tones
Feb 14, 2006 12:36PM PST

I could have changed it, but have failed with this in the past. I just found the picture that most looked like the correct skin color, which incidentally was Molly's official cnet picture. It was pretty easy to put on, the hardes thing to do was get rid of Angelina's long brown hair.

I keep having to make his head abnormally large in order to cover the enormous afros of the characters I'm trying to cover.
