photo slideshow?

I have an older IBM thinkpad running ME. A couple of years ago I saw a tip on Tech TV on how to enable the "view as slideshow" function for photo files, just as you can do in XP. I have since had to do a complete reinstall of the OS and can't for the life of me remember how to do this again. It was very simple to do - just a few mouse clicks - but I just can't remember. Any help? Thanks.

Try the screensaver options

In Windows XP, (I'm not sure about ME at the moment), there is a "My Picture Slideshow" as a screensaver option.

Right click any empty part of your desktop and select Properties.

In the Display Properties dialogue select the Screensaver tab, and then in the Screensaver options click the arrow on the right, scroll down and find "My Picture slideshow" if you have it.

You can set up a slide show fom there.

Screensaver

Thanks fot the reply Mark. I was aware of the screensaver slideshow option. What I am wanting to do though, is enable the slideshow option for folders containing photographs. In XP this is the default setting. When you open a folder with photos, on the left side under "picture tasks" there is a "view as slideshow" option. ME is capable of this too, but the function must be manually set for every folder. Like I said before it is fairly simple, I just can't remember how. I can remember clicking something like enable slideshow, or enable slideshow for this folder. This is driving me crazy. Thanks again.

I think I have found it

Just another thing I never knew about Windows ME

Try the article in this site;

http://www.webtechgeek.com/WindowsMeAllAbout.htm

and scroll down to My Pictures!

You can see pictures as a slide show, but the images must be in your My Pictures folder, which is inside your My Documents folder.

Once they are in there, goto Tools > Folder Options and select under the General tab "Enable web content in folders". Then in the right hand pane you will see an option "View pictures as slideshow.

There you go, instant slideshow.

I hope this helps.

Mark
