Photo Printing

Mar 12, 2006 11:13PM PST

Hello,

I want to print the photos that I have taken as identity card size. I tried using Google Picassa but it was bigger (2x3") what they call wallet size.

I want a tool or a method where by I can print photos smaller than ( 2x3") in size.

Please do help me .

Thanks

Something's amiss here.

Even Paint that came with most Windows could print a photo in any size. You just resize the photo and then print.

You should be able to print any size you want.

I don't have Picassa.

I do have (free) Irfanview.
www.irfanview.com

With it, you click File and then Print.
Up pops a Print preview window.
You can set units to: cm or inches.
You can set Print Size to Custom.
You can set Custom to any size.
Click Print.

Thanks for the 2 messages. I know that paint can do it but it becomes rather tedious. I will have to try once again.

In the second message , the software that was provided will it allow me to print multiple photos on the same page.

Anyway thanks I will try them out.

Irfanview Printing
Mar 13, 2006 6:54AM PST

Printing 15 on a page can be done/

Put all the photos in one folder.

Start Irfanview and open one photo from that folder.
Click File and then click Thumbnails.

In the new window:
Select the 15 thumbnails you want on one page.
(hold down the Ctrl key while you click on each thumbnail)

Click File

Click ''Create contact sheet from selected images.''
A window will open where you can set up the photos in rows and columns, sizes and spacing between photos.

..........

Irfanview has an extensive Help system.
Just click on the Help button.

All of the printers

That say photo printer are good. Now you have to ask yourself what size photos am I going to print? The other options are, do you want to print directly from the camera, do you want to adjust the photo dirctly on your printer without a computor? What type and the amount of cartriges you want? How much do you want to pay per photo? How many pixils per inch? These questions would help us help you.

I suggest you learn a lot more about imaging before

you buy printers or go into the business. Knowing how to resize an image, and what to use to do that, is among the things you need to know. However, your understanding needs to go a lot deeper than that.

Need photo printing price comparisons
Mar 17, 2006 6:13AM PST

Can someone tell me how price, and also quality (important) compare between printing pictures on own printer (I have a HP Office Jet 6110, all in one) or sending to Walgreen or Walmart or some other commercial printer. My pictures will print in 8x10, color, and are action shots of sports. Will download to computer and do some work with Photoshop first. Any suggestion/help will be appreicated. Cartridges for the HP are $25 each and you need two, and I think very expensive. Also any suggestion of who commercially has a good quality?

sources like Sam's Club or Costco. Costco is particularly good if you have more advanced knowledge. Camera stores don't bring anything extra to the game. I suspect their equipment frequently isn't as good as what you find in the high volume places.
