Photo Damage

Nov 22, 2004 4:37AM PST

I don't know what the source of the problem is, but it has happened twice now with photos I have saved (once to some on the hard drive, and now to some on a CD). The first problem happened when my laptop (Sony Vaio) was failing and my photos on the hard drive were damaged to the point that some were not retreivable. I had the hard drive replaced. I had some other photos saved on a disk, and looked at them on the laptop, then took the CD to work to e-mail some to another person. I now have several damaged photos on that CD. What happens is the photo starts to appear, then I get a large portion of it with just gray color, and nothing more, and the image is supposedly complete. The laptop was not used to make this CD, only to view it. Any ideas?
