Photo and video editing build

May 15, 2018 1:20PM PDT

Hi, Im planning to build a pc which ill be using mainly for photo editing, video editing, and very occasional gaming.

Processor i5 8400

Ram Corsair Vengence 16GB 2400mhz C14

Storage 250Gb m.2 ssd 960 evo
and 2tb segate barracuda

Power supply COrsair 450w

Motherboard Asus PRIME B360M-A

Please suggest, weather i should consider adding removing or modifying any of these components.

Id be really happy if imm able to cut off my cost a bit without hampering much on performance.

TIA

The awful news.

Is that video editing will eat any system you select today. So you could invest 10x the cash and still be unhappy with video editing results as it still may take a hour to do the work.

What you listed is fair but looks like a budget build. Me? I'd move to the i7 and pick out a few more hundred Watt SINGLE RAIL PSU.

For what you want it's all about cores and threads.

Now you get into budget and how fast you want this edit to finish.

I would change that ram to 2666......that seems to be native speed.
