Phone Service Help?

Jun 10, 2005 6:02AM PDT

What would you do?

I have been with U.S. Cellular for four years. I have 100 anytime minutes which is $25.00 and 500 nights and weekend minutes, which is another $4.95. My total monthly bill is $38 - $39.00. Vocie mail and caller id is also included in this plan.

Last month I called U.S. Cellular and ask if I bought a new phone, what kind of deal could they give me. One customer service person told me that I could get a upgrade to my current plan for being a loyal customer. The upgrade: 125 anytimes minutes and 3000 nights and weekend minutes for the same price of my old plan. The only thing catch is that I have to buy a U.S. Cellular phone and I have to go to an authorize dearler to activate the phone.

I told the customer service person that was a very nice thing to do for your loyal customers.
I bought a new up to date phone three weeks ago. The motorloa 810. The phone works great, however I noticed that whenever someone would call me, I couldn't see the number. The phone would say, unkown caller. I thought I should read the manual that came with the phone to solve the problem. I read the manual, however I still couldn't figure out the problem. I called cutomer service to see if they could help me with my new phone. They looked up my account and told me that my plan doesn't have caller id or voice mail.
I told them, how can this be, because I received an upgrade. I shouldn't lose freatures on an upgrade. They told me that they could give me several months of free caller id and voice mail, however once the trial period expires, the two extra features are $4.95 each.

I told the customer service person that you want me to pay an additional $10.00 in extra service on features that I already had in my former plan. This would make my phone bill $50.00 a month.
I could go to the 1000 anytime minute plan which have all of those fatures and cost only $39.99.
The customer service person told me that she couldn't do anything about my new upgrade.

What can I do? Who can I talk too? Can they do this?
I did not sign a contract for this plan. I thought is was a plan for being a good customer. At no time durning the conversation with the customer service person did they tell me that I would lose any of my prevous features.
Help Please
Jon
