Question

Phone Logger Application

Jun 22, 2018 7:36AM PDT

Hello Everyone,

Just wondering if there are any apps out there that log when settings are turned off and on in this case airplane mode. I work for a small security firm and we believe some of our guards are turning on airplane mode on the company issued phones to block us getting gps updates on their patrol routes.

If it doesn't yet exist (I didn't search the iPhone and Android stores), it looks like something that can be made for you to log it right into your database.

For Android, yup.

I'll forgo hunting apps but if you can't find them on Android you can put out a RFC to have it created.

That said, GPS is a bit too easy to break. I just so happen to have worked on many tracker systems from school bus and vehicle tracking to a phone app. GPS breaks down inside a building and sure enough we have encountered management that doesn't know how GPS works and why it won't work inside many warehouses.

So yes, I've heard such claims before. I have to give the guards the benefit of the doubt since GPS is what it is.
