Hello, I have a Philips External Hard Drive (250 GB) which I bought around October 2006, it has worked perfectly ever since, until recently.
A few days ago, I pressed the on button and the light started to blink and it made some noises like it wanted to turn on but it couldn't, after about 2 minutes, the light stopped blinking to remain permanently on (as it should be) and then I could access my files. It was kind of weird but I didn't look much into it.
The next day, the same happened, the difference is that that time it never turned on, the light just kept blinking forever and it was making some noises but it just never turned on, so after several minutes I pressed the on/off button again to shut it down.
I'd really appreciate any help on this, since I have a lot of information on there! It was not full either, by the way, I just had like 100-150 GB on it (it has a 250 GB capacity).
If it helps... I have an Acer Aspire 5100 notebook computer, running Windows XP Media Center, which is basically new (I got it 2 months ago).
