Petition to resurrect 3D TV

Jan 17, 2017 5:00AM PST

This is a petition asking LG to introduce one 3D-enabled OLED TV in their 2018 lineup.

This is in the wake of every TV manufacturer simultaneously deciding to abandon 3D support for good, as of 2017. LG is singled out because their 2016 OLED sets represent the state-of-the-art for 3D TV.

They've collected about 4000 signatures so far, and have a got a mention on "What Hi-fi", and a few other places, but it could use some more publicity.

3D doesn't work for me. While I see the effect, it's lower resolution and I get a headache from it.

Good riddance.

They all should have stuck with passive technology

That may have lengthened the demise slightly. I suppose even that was probably going to get a nail in the coffin as well.

Curious attitude

So, because you personally don't care about a feature, you think it's a good thing that people who *do* care about it should have it taken away?

How exactly would the presence of just one 3D-enabled TV in LG's line-up inconvenience you, exactly? Are you afraid people might force you to watch it against your will?

Here's the deal today.

There are still 3D sets and media out there. Buy it while you can.

As to the future, good luck but the market share didn't take off and media sales were tepid.
