Polyethylene terephthalate is now considered an item to steer away from today as I read more about it.
https://ecologycenter.org/plastics/ptf/report3/ for example.
Besides the now obvious issues with tobacco itself.
I have developed a PET film that can be used to replace BOPP film for tobacco packaging. The cost, conservatively, is about 20% cheaper than that of BOPP. I wonder if there will be a market for this product. I am not from the packaging industry.
I just happen to try it out in the lab and on a small extrusion machine and it seems to work ....
Any feedback or advice will be much appreciated !
