Personal Opinion on worth of laptop! Help!

by jschronc / May 3, 2007 3:16 AM PDT

I'm wanting to sell my laptop but I have no idea what it's actually worth. I paid $1800 for it and it's not quite two years old. It has absolutely no defects on the outside and runs perfectly. I have the complete coverage insurance so I sent it to Dell to fix every little scratch or imperfection on it. Here are the details about the laptop:

Inspiron 700m, Intel Pentium MProcessor 755(2GHz/400MHz FSB)12.1 in WXGA
512MB,DDR,333MHz,2 Dimm, Inspiron 700m
80GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive for Inspiron 700m
Image Restore
Microsoft Windows XP Home Service Pack 2, English, for Inspiron
Dell Owners Manual installed on your system, click on icon after system set-up to access
Windows Media Player 11
Integrated NIC for Inspiron
Internal 56k Modem
Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0
8x CD/DVD Burner (DVD+RW,+/-R)for Inspiron 700m
CyberLink PowerDVD v5.5 Decoding Software for DVD Drives
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 (802.11b/g) Internal Wireless
32 WHr 4-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
WordPerfect Productivity Pack 12, English, for Inspiron
Sonic Digital Media Deluxe v7.0/MyDVD Deluxe v6.11, for Inspiron/Dimension

I have also purchased a warranty for Complete Care Accidental Coverage that covers everything except the PC being stolen. It has 400 days left and cost me $350.

Also, I purchased and I have installed Microsoft Office Student Edition 2003.

I just want to know how much people would pay/ how much you think it's worth so I don't get completely ripped off! Thanks!

It's definitely under 600.

I can check the usual office max/depot and find 600 buck new machines with similar components. These will have a new battery, warranty and no wear and tear.

Check on EBay too but it's hard to say it's worth much when new units are so cheap.

When you bought the system you couldn't find

500-600 laptops. We have moved from the PM to soon Santa Rosa just in processors. The problem is the market will determin what you can get for it and you have competition at the lower prices.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
