C/Net is rather big. Even these forums are rather big. Why not post a link to previous discussions and tell us what things you tried already.

Personal antivirus
Jun 17, 2009 8:59PM PDT

Thanks Kees. I am not very savvy using C/net although I come here with all my problems. I have Spybot and Avast but still they could not seem to get rid of this virus and all the annoying pop-ups. I downloaded Malware and that got rid of it straight away. I wish I was more aware of what sites I visit that can give these viruses a chance. Being a great grandmother I do not stray too far from the straight and narrow.!!

You're not very clear.

In fact, you're rather unclear.

In your first post you say: "I cannot get rid of the pop-up".
Now you say: "That got rid of it straight away."
It's often difficult to know where it came from. But luckily, it's not so difficult to get rid of it.

I assume that with "Malware" you mean a program called "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware". Please try (yes, it takes some care) to call a program by its right name. Malware and Anti-Malware seem to be each others opposite!

Anyway, I assume your problem has been solved thanks to some advice you got on these forums.

Personal Antivirus Removal

IF you haven't fixed the issue, please try the suggestion in the link below. They include downloading and running Malwarebytes per Kees' suggestion:

[How to remove Personal Antivirus (Removal Guide)

Remember, when using a program such as Malwarebytes to remove various malware, ALWAYS run repeated scans till the scan comes up with nothing.. Restart the computer, then run a full system scan again, just to be sure.

Hope this helps.
