Years ago I demo'd to a Microsofty what happens if I put a JPEG that Explorer didn't like into a directory. The softy's response was "don't do that."
To workaround this I have to use another file explorer (like GYULA'S NAVIGATOR) and put 1/2 the files in another directory. Now I use Explorer and hope that the error is in one pile and not both. Now I have the problem file in 1/2 the files. Again I split that list in half and repeat the test.
In about 10 splits I usually find the file that Explorer can't handle.
-> To make this perfectly clear, Microsoft does not seem interested in fixing this behavior.

HI, i'm running windows xp mce SP2 on an alienware laptop. What's happening is i have a couple thousand photos (some scanned, some from my digital camera) in one folder where i've collected them over the years and now i am trying to sort them. But everytime i try to sort the files by either moving 1 or multiple photos into a different subfolder i get the message that windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. It's the same thing wether i try to move 1 file or a bunch at once. I've also tried drag and drop and right clicking, cut, paste, etc... No matter what i do i can't move more than 5 photos before i get the error. I've been all over the net trying to find a solution but haven't found one yet. Does anyone here have any ideas?
Thanks alot
