even if it says it's past the redemption phase. If anyone can get it back right away, it's them. If they say they can't, you can either wait for it to become available (depending on how popular the name is), or you can then try to reacquire it through whichever registrar picks it up.
That said, if that's all too much, you can always get an alternative extension like yourname.me or something.

For many years I had a domain name based on my actual and proper birth name. After closing down my old website of this, I parked the name.
I have been mainitaining it with annual payments. However, most recently due to disruptions in my life, I missed the payment deadline. I believe that It has now passed into what the company calls the 'redemption' phase.
What are my alternatives? Is it actually possible to renew the domain name, in slightly different form, with another domain name registration company? Or even the same version that is with the present/original company?
