Does any one know about Pandora Data Recycler?
I'm thinking of getting it, can't find a review.
What does cnet think of it?
Discussion is locked
Bob,
With regard to recovering lost data, there is at times stuff you need and stuff that is retrieved that is not needed.
Previously, my o/s was Xp, know I have Windows 7.
I was using Migo Digital Rescue 4 Premium for data recovery, which had a delete function. Which permanently got rid-off recovered data not needed so helping free up space.
In Windows 7, the delete function is not compatible so I changed data recovery software to Pandora Recovery. In asking them if this had a date delete function like Digital Rescue 4 Premium, I was told no. Though under there Pandora brand, they directed me to Data Recycler at: http://www.datarecycler.com/. I could not find any reviews by CNET about it, since the Pandora Recovery is reviewed.
As I want to know more about it, before any possible purchase.
They all say, "Your data is never truly deleted", and that, of course, is true.
The problem is, they also mostly say that their product can 'recover' data, even when truly deleted with (some other), data delete utility.
We know that there are drive recovery professionals who can take a drive apart and dig deep down sector by sector, byte by byte, and bit by bit, and recover an amazing amount of data from what has been considered a carefully and completely erased drive. The results are frightening.
What I am saying is, there is no truly deleted file. Somewhere or other, someone can have a go and see what they can recover. I have two failed drives with not such important data on them, but I know that I will have to physically dismantle the drive and destroy the disk itself to be sure that none of the data is still there.
This is a problem that can only get worse as time goes on, and none of us are really aware of that or prepared for it.

"Permanent Data delete" is your discussion title. So with that I am now left a little confused about what your question and discussion is about.
For data recovery we have other titles noted at http://forums.cnet.com/7723-7588_102-354911/lost-and-found-or-the-storage-forum-sticky/?tag=contentBody;threadListing
Remember what the CNET Moderators say? "We only lose what we don't backup."
Bob
if you need Permanent Data delete programs , not a data recovery software,
partition wizard is your best choice, which can wipe your partition,
then there is no software can recover your data. ![]()
will magically delete all that data then, so that no data recovery process in the world will be able to get it back?
Incorrect.
