With 45GB of data, almost any CPU will do. What will matter is that you pump up the RAM and the hard disk speeds.
Your 3.6 GHz HT P4 w/256MB RAM could be trounced by my P3 w/ 1GB RAM if you had a the stock 4200 RPM slow drive and my P3 had the fastest 72000 RPM drive I could find.
Think about it.

Hi,
I intend to buy a notebook primarilly for installing SAP in it and working on it. I am not able to decide whether I should be going for a Centrino processor that is an Intel Pentium M processor 755 (2.0 GHz) or the conventional Mobile Intel pentium processor at 538 with HT technology.3.20 GHz, 1MB cache, 533MHz FSB.
I am more particular about the performance of the processor, since SAP is a very huge application and has about 45GB of data in the database tables. So the amount of data in the transactions would be very huge.
Could someone please advice me accordingly.
Thanks and Regards,
Babu
