PENTIUM 4 2.8 HT **VS** ATHLON XP 3200+

Aug 15, 2004 10:56AM PDT

Hi people... I am building a computer for the first time and I need help on processor choice. I have narrowed it down to two processors...

The Pentium 4 (Northwood) 2.8GHz, HT, 1MB, 800 FSB

and the

Athlon XP 3200+ 2.2Ghz 400FSB

I do video editing and graphics programs, NOT GAMES. If anyone knows which one would be better for me, please let me know and if they have any motherboard reccomendations, please let me know also... THANKS!

Over at http://www.tomshardware.com is a CPU comparison that included video processing. The HT has an edge from memory plus for the first time builder will be more forgiving as to power and heat.
