I went with DSL (Damn Small Linux) because I could boot the small CD and in that menu there is an install to pen drives.

Strange distribution: better use something like Mandriva, Mint, Ubuntu or DSL as suggested above. Good web-page/database to find distribution homepages and other information is here:
http://distrowatch.com/

Personally I like CD/DVD more than USB then I have more free space in USB.

Linux is secure system
Nov 13, 2009 1:06AM PST

Linux is secure system it means that only admin more ofen called root can do all things, but not simple user. In most popular and modern distributions table will pop up asking for password and then will do prompted job as root.

You pendirelinux behaves who knows how... But you should find something like root terminal (which you do not know how to use), try to login with something like root root root no password or even better read documentation. ...
-----
You can make things much more simple just by going to link posted above and choosing something from top 5 most popular distributions (Ubuntu, Fedora, SUSE, Mandriva, Mint). After you will get some knowledge you can use more advanced or for special task dedicated distributions. If you have win98 era PC, very limited drive space etc. Or in short very limited hardware issues then try DSL or Puppy.
