Alas, there's no indication that the combined algorithms of converting bitmap (result from scan) to pdf and then pdf to Word is much better then the one-step algorithm to convert a bitmap to Word. If it was, some smart OCR-company would have done already!
However, if you want to give it a try, see some previous discussions:
While reading through them, I note the second one (with already 36 posts) is started by a question from you. If no good answer came out of that, I doubt if this new question will lead to anything useful.
There's no better converter than a skilled human typist. So I'm afraid my advice is: better start typing! Or hire an off-shore (Indian or so) data entry company. They are cheaper than a USA one.
I have a load of papers to scan and scanning in OCR is not an option because its takes to long to correct so they need to be scanned in PDF.
That leaves the problem of converting them into word so I need a PDF to Word converter. I am happy to pay but would prefer not to pay the earth.
Does anyone have any sugestions?
