PDF Files sending in e-mail ...

Hello all.. my challenge is how do I get files small enough to attach in an e-mail to send? Usually, if there are more than 12 pages in the file, I can never get the file enough to e-mail! The size is too large, I receive large pdf files. The number of pages sent are 25 - 60.

What is it I need to do or not do? I reduce the file size in acrobat before sending and that does not appear to help either. Even when zipping the file, which did not help either.

Using on desk top, XP Pro, Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro, SeaMonkey internet suite.

Thanks for input and advice.

Re: sending large files

As you noticed, pdf files can't be compressed. They already are. And especially if they contain pictures, they tend to be rather big. A 12 page text only pdf (that you make from Word, for example) generally is smaller than the .doc original.

How big (in bytes or MB) is (too) big for you? What is the limit set by your ISP?
How much MB is such a 12 page pdf you make. What's the content?

Sending large files

In reply to: PDF Files sending in e-mail ...

I have found it easier to upload large files to an online service and then provide a link to the people I need to pick them up. I have been using MSN SkyDrive free) and when I am done uploading I can provide a link to the person(s) I want to download them, they don't have to have a Windows Live ID to pick them up but you would need one to use the service.
