Pocket PC (today) is a PDA.

Since Pocket PCs are the "name" of the Microsoft CE, PPC or XP Embedded based PDA, the question falls apart as I pull away from the curb. Can you try again?

As to better. No criteria was given so there is no winner.

I just want to know why someone would choose a PDA platform than a Pocket pc platform.

Your question eludes me. Can you explain it or rephrase it?

alright, let me save you from an obviously slow axim user.
Pocket PCs are windows in your pocket.
Palms are an interface designed specifically for a PDA.

PC World attempted to figure out which was better sometime last year. IF I recall correctly, they decided that palm was easier to use bec. of its better interface,
but PPC has more input options- ie, a voice memo is inclued with every model, and there are 3 ways to write.
n email they were a draw,
but on hot-syncing, palm won because its documents dont lose their format when they sync. In fact a third party app for palm- Documents-to-go, syncs better with microsoft word then Pocket Word -(the ppc version) does. (when you consider that Pocket word is microsoft brand, it makes you wonder.)
The address book was easy to use in both, although they use differetn ways to recall adresses in long lists.
The main reason why someone might perfer a palm over a ppc, is simply satisfaction rates. Check out the reveiws on this website, and you'll find that the highest ratings almost always go to palm based PDAs. IF you read the reveiws there will alway be more people trashing ppcs in favor of palms then vica versa.
Which is why I chose a palm. However, I'm sure there are also reasons to buy a PPC. I havent met too many convincing ones- usually its just something like, "Well you know the format, its just like windows."
Maybe Bob finally has something to say?

it's funny that I switch from Palm to PPC. Anyway, I like PPC because they have a nicer interface, rather than one of those terminal like look, or DOS trying to have a 3D effect.

Also, PPC has more multimedia features, such as those of the HP iPaqs. And iPaq comes with more software, so you don't have to buy extra software to be able to worry about typing documents and compatibility (it's funny how everyone "have to be compatible with M$").
