Oct 12, 2004 1:06PM PDT

I am a beginner to PDA. What are meant by Operating Systems like windows CE, ARM, StrongARM, SH3, MIPS, pocket PC and the likes.

Your detailed explanation about them will highly be appreciated.

Thank you very much

ARM is not an operating system (neither are others in your list), but is a CPU.

Toss all that out the window and your real question should be..

What PDA does "THIS" for me?

You have to define what a PDA does for you and then find that PDA. It won't matter what CPU/OS if it does what you want.

Windows CE was an earlier edition OS of what's now known as the "Pocket PC" which runs what is commonly referred to as "Windows Mobile Edition". The latter part of your question (ARM, StrongARM, SH3, MIPS) are the types of processors use in individual devices. Hope this helps you out.

I downloaded a program to be used on my Dell Axim. The instructions said I should pick my CPU from the list (arm, mips, sh3). Where do I find that info on my Axim?

(NT) (NT) Dell Axim is an ARM.
