PCI-E graphics card

by scooper0625 / March 15, 2009 7:15 PM PDT

Perhaps a silly question, but is it possible to install a PCI-E (express) graphics card onto a motherboard that is not PCI-E compatible (has AGP slot, but does not fit PCI-E)?

I'm guessing that I would have to upgrade my motherboard.

Thanks for any help!

Note that a new motherboard may need another CPU and other RAM, if you don't select for compatibility with your current CPU and current RAM.

Yea, that's what I thought : )

Well, there should be plenty of good "gaming" cards out there that are not PCI-E , so i'll just look for those. Thanks for your time!
