Pcclient illegal operation

Feb 14, 2004 6:35AM PST

Hi, Does anyone know why i am getting an illegal operation caused by Pcclient? It happens every time i try to update my anti virus (Pc-cillin 2004), and a few other times when it has nothing to do with pc-cillin. I have uninstalled my anti virus several times and reinstalled it. I am running windows 98

Any other resource issue?

Is there some firewall that you can uninstall during the update?

1. I asked to uninstall the firewall. Even disabled it still works.

2. If the product is failing, a free one was noted by another poster. Try that.

Is there a known threat to outside attack this firewall is protecting you against? I haven't seen a documented exploit to a Windows 98 machine that has no shares and one windows update.
