"XP" without all the patches, SP3 and more could indeed fail. We also see bad installs of XP with missing drivers so there's that. So many things could be wrong here.
Rather than fiddle for weeks with XP why not use DROPBOX to move things over?

Bob
I am running windows XP and trying to load photos from my PC to a Kindle HD6. The computer will not recognize the Kindle. I have tried different USB ports and I tried rebooting both items with no help. It says that I need Window Media Player 11 to do this and I do have that installed. My PC just cant seem to find the Kindle when I connect it. My Kindle is turned on when I connect it and the screen is unlocked. Any help please? Thanks, Bill
